Dorothy was born and raised in New Jersey. She then moved to Ohio, Georgia, Colorado and Alabama and has resided in Birmingham for 16 years and considers Birmingham her home. Dorothy is married to Joe "Bubba" Reid, a lifelong resident of Birmingham and they have 3 grown sons and a Golden Retriever.

In 2004, Dorothy was featured in a national mortgage publication and named Superstar of the Month. In 2005, Dorothy had 11 published articles in a local real estate magazine.
